Frosted Blog – Week 11

Hello there!  I am Anna and I am part of the wonderful ensemble for our upcoming pantomime Frosted! This is my second show with SMP and it is an absolute blast!

Our show is fast approaching so this week saw us being very busy with learning the last of our musical numbers extravaganza!  On Monday, all the cast members were extra busy learning two musical numbers that promise to really rock our audience’s world – Wrapped Up & You Give Love A Bad Name (that’s right, Bon Jovi, – you have some serious competition!).  It was a very intense session but with some amazing results at the end of it – we were sounding fierce!

On Wednesday, since we have sent some more cast members on to that extra-important recon mission Eurodisney that Lee mentioned in last week’s blog (and, although it might seem that way, but no, SMP is not actually moving into the Eurodisney castle… or are we?… J), the remainder of the cast was busy recapping all the musical numbers with our wonderful MD Mike.  I dare say it went pretty well… I mean Mike was nearly driven to pull his hair out once or twice during that session but he was still left with most of it by the end – so I call that a successful session!  In the second part of the rehearsal, our director Luke was busy working through the scenes and blocking them with our talented leads.

And on Sunday, we got to take part in the most joyous event that took place in Enfield – The Parade of Light! The SMP family have been working very hard over the last couple of weekends and built a magical float for the Parade – a magnificent white castle with extra sparkly towers and doors, covered in lights (obviously) and loads of tinsel!  Our Frosted princes and princesses were all dressed up on the float singing away while the rest of us, plastered head to toe in fairy lights, tinsel and glitter, followed the float singing and dancing a very special dance created by Marian!  Our youngest SMP member, Jasper, was leading the charge in the lights-covered buggy – trust me, people of Enfield did not know what hit them! There were other fabulous floats in the parade but Frosted one was definitely the most magnificent one of them all! It was a truly wonderful evening and it was great to see so many people enjoying the floats and joining in with the fun – and we got to see some amazing fireworks at the end of it all – SMP life is never boring!

That’s all from me and this week’s blog! Just one thing left to say come and see our show – it will extraordinary!
