About Us

SMP Theatre has been entertaining audiences across North London and Hertfordshire for almost 70 years. Each year, we stage a wide variety of musicals, pantomimes and plays, bringing together talented actors, singers and dancers from Enfield and beyond.

Founded in 1958 as Saint Monica's Players, SMP Theatre continues to produce a pantomime every January, a musical in June, and a selection of plays throughout the year. We take pride in presenting productions that are diverse, challenging and engaging for both our audiences and our members.

Over the decades, many SMP members have gone on to achieve great success. The late BBC reporter Brian Hanrahan, known for his coverage of the Falklands War, and Jo Collins OBE, co-founder of Chicken Shed, both began their performing journeys with us.

More recently, our members have continued to find success in the industry: Julian Perretta has toured across Europe; Jamie Nichols has appeared in Gutted, Houdini, Holby City and EastEnders; David O'Mahony has performed in The Bodyguard and Beautiful; Joe Davies has featured in Hangmen and Junkyard; Lauren Campbell regularly dances on Strictly Come Dancing; and Jack Frimston's band, The Tailormade, has supported acts ranging from Olly Murs to Madness.
